I have been wanting to share these two sweet babies for awhile now. I just ran into to their momma who has been one of my bestest friends and soul sister since high school. Their mom and I learned to play guitar together, we sang in a few bands side by side and we rocked out acoustically with some of the most talented people. Words have no way of describing our insane adventures while gigging in Columbia, SC. I upped and moved down with Ashleigh when I was 21 and we ventured out into a world of music that we hold so close to our hearts.
Ashleigh was married a few years ago (I of course captured that day as well) and I am so honored her and her husband had me down at their house in Williamsburg to photograph the latest additions to the family! So here are some images from my time with Miss A and Mr E.
I always neglect my blog because I feel like I say the same things over and over again. How much I love this family and how patient everyone is…. that being said, it’s hard because all of those words are always genuine. Each client touches my heart in a way that brings me joy.
I know that everyone has different battles that they are fighting but sometimes its just overwhelming, sometimes its just too much. I have taken that anxiety and been afraid to work. I have been afraid to see people in public because I don’t know how to explain that I didn’t handle things well, I wasn’t the bounce back type or I had another surgery. I fear that no one could possibly believe that all this. However, its all real and its all true. I will still get back up and push forward. It is people like the Davis family that have helped me see that I do mean more to my clients then just someone who takes their child’s photos. My clients mean so much more to me then they probably will ever truly know.
I have been photographing Emme since she was 4 months old. She just turned 5 this year and every year her mom does an awesome job with a themed birthday party. These parties are so well known around town, we can’t wait to hear what the theme for next year is going to be. This year it was It’s A Small World. There was a fabulous globe cake and decor that Emme always loves showing off to me. I love this little one so much she is truly a special little soul. She has brought joy to my work during tough times and one of the only people I could photograph during this last little bit. So I will let the photos do the rest of the talking. Happy Wednesday!!
I love working with this awesome family. They have been so patient throughout this insane little bit of life. However, we all have our “things” and our challenges through life and its what we do in times that are tough that define our character. When life is great we have nothing but positivity to exude. When times are hard, we gather support from those that truly support us, try to get through the day when getting dressed in non yoga attire seems like a life win for the day and most of all look back and gain insight into our mistakes. In hopes they don’t happen in the future. So without further adieu I present the L family. The kindest and one of the most beautiful families I have gotten to work with. Thank you!
I drive around a lot and look for light and locations, most of the time I don’t mean to but you may find me looking a little strange as I bite my lower lip and tilt my head seeing some glimmer of magic between the busy street with cars passing by and the over grown weeds that have taken over a once perfect garden. I have had my eye on this spot for some time and I always like to keep various places in the roledex (1980s reference 😉 )within my head. I don’t like shooting at the same spot multiple times so sometimes I may just go for it with the weird location and luckily this mom puts a lot of trust in me and never questions my weird explanations on how to find me next to a basketball hoop in a parking lot behind a building around a corner and in a garden. She always finds me though and I like to think that her trust pays off.
Here is a few from Miss E’s 3/4 month shoot. I am lucky to have such patient clients as most of you know this year has been one for the record books. I will be blogging about all that soon but for now here are some cuties to enjoy!
